The library in the Town Hall offers a wide range of books,
public computers, specially created zones for children and young
Somerset Studies Library.
Over 9000 new books have been purchased for the new library.
There are over 4,500 new books for adults from arts and
crafts to history, new fiction and graphic novels and
music CDs and DVDs. You’ll find more than 1,500 new picture
and board books and 2,400 new children's fiction and
information books too.
Nestled amongst the shelves are seating areas so that you can
relax with a coffee from one of the vending machines, read the
newspaper or sample a book at your leisure. There are study areas,
and with free WiFi you can even bring your laptop along.
Self-service kiosks allow you to borrow multiple items at a few
touches of the screen. Our staff are always on hand should you need
a little help.
The North Somerset Studies Library is very accessible, and has even
more study space, staff support and resources than ever before. If
you are interested in researching the history of your house or want
to compile your family tree then we have the information to help.
It has already been described as ‘an excellent facility, with good
lighting, welcoming staff and more space.’
With more computers available we will continue to support you to
keep in touch with family, apply for work, access council services
and much more.

On the first Wednesday of the month staff will be available from
Outside the core staffed hours self service is in operation. You
can browse, study, borrow and return items using the self-service
facilities. Computers and Wi-Fi can also be used - however printing
is temporarily unavailable.
